Vanda Orchid — Five Stylings, Quietly at Home

Four Vanda orchids, each with a different face. The way the petals curved, the direction each bloom naturally turned — even within the same variety, no two were alike. So before We started arranging, We just looked at them for a while. We worked with each flower's own character, finding the right angle for each stem one by one, then chose the vessels and baskets around them. The goal was to let the strong presence of each Vanda orchid shape the whole scene in the room.

Arrangement 1: With Allium

or the first styling, the Vanda takes center stage. Two stems of Allium reach straight up alongside it, and a few green leaves sit at the base. Simple and vertical. The wooden table, the houseplants in the background, a rustic woven basket, and some wild Dokudami leaves I brought in from the garden — everything around it was already there.

Arrangement 2: With Delphinium

The second styling stays within cool tones. The purple of the Vanda and the blue of the Delphinium sit naturally close in color, no contrast needed. A few small green leaves keep it quiet. The blue floral tile on the wall was the starting point for this one — everything was chosen to sit comfortably within that corner of the room.

Arrangement 3: With Aster and smoke tree

The third styling is softer. One Vanda paired with rosy pink Aster. A little smoky, feathery smoke tree tucked behind adds just enough lightness. Pulled back, it sits on a wooden shelf. A piece of woven rattan webbing underneath the vessel — just one small detail that ties the whole thing together.

Arrangement 4: With Kangaroo Paw

The fourth styling is all about contrast. Yellow Kangaroo Paw alongside the purple Vanda — two strong personalities, placed close together inside the bowl. A generous amount of green foliage woven around the stems softens the tension between them. Pulled back, something in the air shifts. The fine needle-leaved greens connect naturally with the bamboo basket resting nearby on the shelf.

Arrangement 5: With Kangaroo Paw and a ceramic jar

Lately, most of my days are spent working on my upcoming flower styling book. It has finally moved into the latter half of the project. Looking through the layouts as the pages begin to take shape, something feels right. This book is packed with styles and variations that couldn't be covered in the blog, along with our core philosophy of flower styling and a sense of playfulness. My focus now is simply to shape it into something meaningful for everyone who shares this love for flowers. It is becoming a collection of moments exactly as I wanted them to be.

I hope your space brings you a little extra joy today.
